There's a point in every bathroom remodel where things shift from rough construction to something that actually looks like a finished space. Laying the floor tile is usually that moment. And this one is no different.

We went with a large-format hexagon tile in a marble-look finish - white with soft grey veining running through each piece. It's the kind of tile that reads clean and classic without being boring. The hex shape adds visual texture and a little personality without going overboard.

One thing worth pointing out here - we use tile leveling clips and wedges across the entire floor during installation. Every single tile gets clipped. It's not the fastest method, but it's the right one. It keeps the surface perfectly flat and eliminates any lippage between tiles. Once everything sets and the clips come off, you get a floor that feels as good as it looks.

The drain placement is already built in and centered within the layout - both the round center drain and the linear slot drain along the edge. Getting the tile pattern to flow cleanly around those details takes planning before a single tile goes down. That's the work that happens before you ever see a finished floor.

This bathroom is coming together in a big way. Still some work left, but the tile sets the tone for everything else that follows.
