This one is a good example of how finish carpentry pulls a whole space together. Doors hung, trim set, and a built-in niche with shelves added in the bathroom - all in one scope of work. It doesn't look like much yet with the drywall mud still fresh, but that's exactly the point. This is the stage where the details get locked in.

Door hanging is one of those things that looks simple but isn't. Getting a door to swing right, sit flush, and close without fighting you takes patience and a good eye. We use black hinges throughout this build - a small choice that makes a big difference once everything is painted and finished.

The trim work around each opening is clean and tight. Mitered corners, proper reveal, no gaps. That kind of consistency matters because once paint goes on, every shortcut shows. We don't take shortcuts.

The built-in shelving niche in the bathroom is a nice touch. Instead of leaving dead wall space or relying on a freestanding storage unit, we framed in a recessed niche and added two shelves. It keeps the bathroom feeling open while actually adding functional storage. That's what custom built-ins do well - they work with the space instead of just sitting in it.

There's still a lot of finish work ahead on this build, but the bones are solid. Getting the carpentry right at this stage means everything downstream - paint, fixtures, flooring - lands the way it should.
