There's something satisfying about this stage of a cabinet build. The boxes are done, the desktop is ready, and all that's left is getting these doors painted and dried before everything goes in. It's the last stretch - and honestly, one of our favorite parts.
These are raised-panel cabinet doors, all laid out flat and freshly painted in a soft sage-green tone. The finish is still wet in this shot, and you can see the sheen sitting clean and even across every door. That kind of uniformity doesn't happen by accident. It takes the right application technique and enough patience to let each coat do its job.
Painting doors separately before install is the right way to do it. You get full coverage on every edge, every corner, and every profile detail in the panel. Try doing that after the doors are hung and you're fighting the hardware, the hinges, and gravity all at once. This way, the client gets a finish that looks intentional - because it was.
The desktop that goes with these cabinets is getting the same treatment. When everything goes up together, the paint, the doors, and the built-in surface will all read as one cohesive piece. That's the goal with any custom cabinetry job - nothing looking like an afterthought.
Custom cabinet work like this takes time to do right, but the result is something that's built to last and looks exactly the way it should. We're close to final install on this one, and we can't wait to show you the finished product.
